About Me
Returned to flying after a 46 year hiatus. Things have changed a bit since 1979. Purchased a 1977, Cessna T337G Skymaster. I love this airplane. I have double redundancy for nearly everything to try to have the best safety options possible. I flew the Skymaster, with the new panel from Corpus Christi, TX to it's new home in Anchorage, AK in summer 2025. It was a great flight and the new Aspen Max 2500 really helped make that a safe and more enjoyable experience.

My Aspen Experience
Panel had a single Legacy PFD 1000 when purchased in Oct 24. Now has a 2500 Pro Max and could not be happier with that choice. Works well with the S-Tec 65 (would work better with a 55X or best with a digital AP but no STC's for those). Fully integrated with the dual GTN 650Xi's and the GTX 345. Also installed an Aspen EWR50 for SIRIUS satellite weather. That unit works great with the Max 2500. I wish Aspen offered a 4th unit as a twin engine, EIS to mount right panel. That is all that remains to update. Likely have to go with GI 275's or a JDM 960. Aspen's customer service is good. I never did receive the AOA unlock for my MFD's with the purchase of the new 2500 Max, but at least it shows up on the PFD during critical phase airspeeds. It's a handy safety feature. I had a couple issues during the install and Aspen addressed them right away. Thank you
