The Evolution E5 Electronic Flight Instrument (EFI) voted the best new product in the avionics category
Albuquerque, NM; April 15, 2020: Today, Aspen Avionics announces the readers of Flieger Magazine, Germany’s most influential general aviation publication has selected Aspen’s Evolution E5 EFI the best new product in the avionics category. Read the about the winners and nominees here.
The Evolution E5 was nominated by the magazine editors due to the “outstanding price and performance” it provides to aircraft owners. The E5 was selected for this best-in-category award by Flieger readers over Garmin nominations; GFC500 digital autopilot and GNC355A navigator.
“There’s nothing more gratifying for a manufacturer than being recognized by aviation enthusiasts and professional pilots for endorsing the capability and value of your product,” said John Uczekaj, president and CEO. It is especially rewarding for all of us at Aspen to receive this prestigious award as we take great pride in the international success and acceptance of our products,” continued Uczekaj.
“It is especially satisfying to receive this award from the international aviation community I have served as regional sales manager for two decades throughout my career in aviation,” said Cory Relling, international regional sales manager. “The Aspen Evolution E5 EFI fills a unique need for aircraft owners around the world who want to convert to a glass cockpit with extraordinary capability at a price point typically less than a steam gauge overhaul,” continued Relling.
To add even more value to aircraft owners, Aspen has recently released new software for the E5 to display a traditional Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI). Aircraft owners who have already installed Aspen’s Evolution E5 can update their current display through an Aspen authorized dealer who will enter the change with a logbook entry. To add even more capability and utility to the Evolution E5, Aspen has also added the following new optional software features available for just $495:
- True Air Speed (TAS)
- Outside Air Temperature (OAT)
- Wind direction and speed
- WAAS GPS mode annunciations
Priced at $4,995, the Evolution E5 EFI is configurable, upgradeable, and affordable. As the pilot’s need grow, the E5 can also be converted to the Evolution Pro MAX which enables owners to add software options like Synthetic Vision and Angle of Attack. Unlike other standalone systems, Aspen’s versatile design and open architecture provide owners a cost-effective path to upgrade their panel without unit replacement or investing in a new installation.
The Evolution E5 EFI is approved for IFR flight when installed with a panel mounted IFR GPS. When installed without a panel mount GPS, the E5 EFI is approved for VFR flight only.
With over 13,0000 subscribers and editorial content aimed at the professional and private pilot community, Flieger Magazine is the leading publication in the German speaking countries within Europe for owners of single and twin-engine aircraft.
