Customer Memo: Follow-up message regarding new terrain database for Evolution Flight Displays
Dear Aspen customer:
We would like to update you on our communication earlier this week regarding the new Jeppesen terrain, but first a quick clarification—if your PFD does not currently have an SD card in the slot located along the lower edge of the bezel, then please disregard this notice. Your PFD display does not require the upgraded terrain.
The terrain download is applicable only to:
- 1000/500 MFDs (with or without synthetic vision) or
- Pro PFDs with synthetic vision
Those systems will have a data card installed in the microSD card slot.
You must also have an active Jeppesen subscription for “NavData Coverage Aspen Avionics EFD1000, EFD500” to receive the terrain file in you JSUM download list. (e.g. your Garmin 430/530 navdata subscription does not qualify you for the download) Click here for instructions on how to get a subscription to Aspen navdata.
The terrain file should now be available for you to download, whether you are using JSUM version 2.2.7 or 2.2.8. However, PLEASE BE AWARE that version 2.2.7 has a known issue that may prevent a successful download. This failure will not affect the integrity of the data if the download is successful.
Jeppesen expects to release JSUM version 2.2.9 in February that will fix the issue with version 2.2.7.
Thank you for your patience in this matter,
-Aspen Avionics
