Brazil and Canada Issue STCs for Aspen Avionics’ Evolution Flight Display System
Paving the Way for Further Growth of Aspen’s Worldwide Customer Base
Oshkosh, WI, July 28, 2009: Aspen Avionics, Inc., maker of the award-winning Evolution Flight Display System, announced today that both Brazil and Canada have recently issued Supplemental Type Certificates authorizing installation of Aspen’s EFD1000 Primary Flight Displays (PFDs) into airplanes registered in those countries. These certifications are the latest examples of Aspen’s efforts to make the most advanced avionics and safety technologies available—and affordable—to the most pilots and aircraft owners worldwide.
Brazil’s Agencia Nacional de Aviacao Civil (ANAC) has issued a Brazilian Supplemental Type Certificate (CHST) with Approved Model List authorizing installation of Aspen’s EFD1000 PFDs into more than 320 different aircraft models having Brazilian Type Certificates. Brazil has the largest general aviation (GA) fleet in South America, and many of its aircraft owners have been anxiously awaiting local certification to install the Evolution PFD.
Separately, Transport Canada has issued its first STC for installation of the EFD1000 Primary Flight Display, into Diamond DA20 airplanes. Aspen is continuing to work with Transport Canada to expand that STC to include many other aircraft with Canadian Type Certificates.
“Both Brazil and Canada have large GA fleets that can benefit from the many advantages Aspen’s Evolution system brings to older aircraft,” said Doug Cayne, Aspen Avionics VP of Marketing. “Almost half of all Part 23 GA airplanes are based outside the United States, and Aspen is committed to bringing its award-winning products and customer support to all those aircraft owners around the world,” he continued.
