Robert Blaha Promoted to Director, OEM and International Sales at Aspen Avionics
Aspen Accelerates Expansion Into New Markets
Albuquerque, NM, October 7, 2008: Aspen Avionics, Inc., announced today that Robert Blaha has been promoted to Director, OEM and International Sales. Previously, Blaha served as Manager of Sales in the Western region, where he helped define and implement Aspen Avionics’ new sales, dealer, and customer programs.
Aspen Avionics is now shipping its Evolution Flight Display (EFD) system to Authorized Dealers on five continents, and is aggressively expanding its dealer network outside the US. Liberty Aerospace has chosen Aspen’s EFD as standard equipment for the Advanced IFR version of its XL-2 trainer aircraft, and Aspen is in advanced discussions with additional aircraft OEMs.
“Robert’s proven track record and experience both at the OEM level and in the international market will serve us well as we continue to expand our market presence,” said Mark Ferrari, Aspen Avionics’ Vice President of Sales and Customer Support. “Both of these markets represent significant growth opportunities for our young company and Rob is ideally suited to direct these sales efforts.”
Prior to joining Aspen in May 2007, Blaha was employed by Honeywell International, where he was Area Sales Manager for the Southwest region of the United States. Over Blaha’s career, he has held key sales positions for Macaw Electronics, SCI/Midland International and Honeywell International. He has been responsible for launching several products, building and supporting dealer programs, and cultivating emerging GA markets.
Blaha holds a BS in Aviation Maintenance Management from Lewis University. He is also an accomplished pilot with Commercial, Ground Instructor and Flight Instructor certificates, as well as holding an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic’s certificate.
