Aspen Avionics Names John Uczekaj as President and CEO
Industry leader to propel Aspen to new heights.
Albuquerque, NM, February 14, 2007: Aspen Avionics, Inc., announced today that it has appointed John Uczekaj as its new President and CEO, effective February 12th. Uczekaj, a well-respected leader in the aviation industry, will replace co-founder and former CEO Peter Lyons, who will remain with Aspen along with co-founder Jeff Bethel. Both will report to Uczekaj and continue to play key roles in the development of the company.
“We are excited to have John on board here at Aspen,” said Lyons. “We conducted an extensive executive search to find just the right blend of experience, skills and personality to propel Aspen to new heights. John is definitely that leader, and I look forward to working closely with him to grow the company.”
Uczekaj, who began his 26 year aviation career as an engineer at Boeing, has held key technical and executive management positions with companies such as Sperry and Honeywell. At Honeywell, Uczekaj rose through the engineering ranks to become Vice President of Development Engineering, and later led Sales and Marketing for the Commercial Avionics Systems division.
In 2001, Uczekaj was made Executive VP and General Manager of Honeywell’s Aerospace Electronics Systems division, including the Bendix/King line of general aviation (GA) avionics.
In 2004, Uczekaj left Honeywell to become President and COO of The NORDAM Group, an aviation parts manufacturer and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) company.
Uczekaj will now bring his experience and broad management expertise to Aspen Avionics. “Aspen has already delivered an incredibly relevant product to the underserved retrofit market with the introduction of the AT-300,” Uczekaj commented. “The team is seasoned and ready to go to the next level. I’m thrilled by the opportunity to help build the next major player in the avionics industry.”
